Travel Predictions- 2021&2022

We asked our senior travel advisor, Debbie Fairvalley, to share her thoughts on upcoming travel trends and what you should expect. Debbie has been in the industry for 13 years and specializes

in family travel, multi-generational, & couple's honeymoons & getaways. Here is what this travel expert has to say:

The best advice I can give travelers looking at trips for 2021 and 2022 is to book now!

With the relaxed cancellation policies of both airlines & hotels coupled with the values offered to initiate traveling, there is no better time to book your trip than now. I, along with our travel partners around the world, anticipate a huge surge in travel as soon as borders open and restrictions are eased, so it is better to have availability and options now rather than wait until the hotel or experience is sold out due to heavy demand. The cruise industry has moved so many bookings over to the 3rd & 4th quarter of 2021 and 2022 that some are already sold out for 2022.

This pandemic has made us consider what is important now more than ever and that is why I believe those bucket list experiences such as Africa, Egypt, Morocco & South America will be quite popular in 2022. We want to travel to these more "exotic" locations and feel a more authentic connection to the destinations.

I am already seeing a surge in multi-generational travel. The family "bubble" feels safe and coordinating private experiences throughout the world provides such lasting memories with grandma & grandpa. This is the gift families are sharing right now, time together!

Villa rentals are on the upswing as well. There is safety and comfort in staying apart from the general population but still being able to experience getting away (which everyone needs right now). Villas are the perfect solution for this!

In closing I encourage you to be ready when things open up with a plan and a passport. Saint Augustine wrote "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page".
